    Elizabeth Thill: 2020 Open Education Award Finalist

    Dr. Thill has created multiple VR experiences and 3D prints that use OER 3D Models of Classical sculpture and architecture, drawn from Scan The World (MyMiniFactory.com), Sketchfab.com, and 3DWarehouse.com. Furthermore Dr. Thill has integrated these prints and VR experiences classes and are launching Ancient World 3D (AW3D) and the 3D Learning Library (3D2L) at University Library.

    Professor Jones has created an online open spreadsheet of  lms related to law of which professors have suggested for use in law classrooms. The spreadsheet is open for contributions by all American law professors.

    Dr. Chen uses the OER Online Stat Book which is available for free as a website, PDF, and e-book for her stastistic’s class PSY-B 305 instead of using a costly textbook.

    To fill in a curriculum gap in the BS Environmental Science degree program, in 2018, Dr. Wang created a new course called "Climate Change and Society (GEOL-G477)" for junior/senior level students in the Department of Earth Sciences. Because climate change is a well-discussed topic, there are plenty of online resources available to cover di erent aspects of the topic. Therefore, instead of relying on expensive textbooks, the nominee searched and decided to use two Open Educational Resources for this course.

    Dr. Kroupa created That's Psych!, a universally accessible blog about current theories and research in psychology as they relate to internet memes. Its target audience is college students but it is written in a approachable voice for the general public. That's Psych! has hundreds of thousands of views from across the globe.

    Leslie Ashburn-Nardo: 2020 Open Education Award Finalist

    Having taught an undergraduate course that is required of majors, and recognizing the burdens that textbook costs placed on students. Dr. Ashburn-Nardo has been using the OER textbook Together: The Science of Social Psychology.

    Brian Dixon: 2020 Open Education Award Winner

    Dr. Dixon uses OERs in assignment for his online courses from government websites. In PBHL-E645, students utilize a portion of the Open Learning initiative’s “Health Information and Technology Foundations,” a completely free resource. Students review basic systems in health care, such as electronic health record systems, because in this course they will examine how to interconnect these systems together. To avoid the need for pre-requisites (which can be costly), students review a few modules from an OER. They are then prepared to discuss how these systems can become interoperable to support population health challenges. The OER really helps set a level playing  eld for all students as it is new material to some, and review for others. Students consistently report the OER is useful to them in this course.

    Professor Layden Worked with University Library to digitize the complete archives of genesis, IUPUI's literature and art magazine. Currently Layden uses the archive in the classroom and during presentations/talks in the community.
